I went to the Abbey till I was 17 opting out of the education factory and earning some money.
The 1st thing that came up was an YTP Scheme where you had an opportunity to try different jobs and ‘find yourself’. I eventually settled on catering being offered a job in a busy Newry restaurant (Henry T’s) as a commis chef.
I loved it and became the head chef in 2 years. Since then I travelled and learned and bought my first restaurant at age 23. There are lots of highs and lows in this industry but all in all I achieved all I wanted from it.
This past 9 years I have been following my true passion – music. Initially I started teaching guitar to people expanding to rehearsal rooms. Recording studio and PA hire. Within this business there is also a rock school where people getting lessons can come, form a band and jam. It’s like a musical hub for young and old. I now get a living out of enjoying myself 24/7. I achieved my dream job from determination passion and conviction.
